Welcome to Round 01 of the Challenge Tires London and South East Cyclo-Cross League at Stanmer Park, Brighton. Hosted by VC Jubilee and organised by James Stone.

With great pleasure that we return to Stanmer Park, the traditional start to the Cyclo Cross Season in the South East, and Round 1 of the Challenge Tires London and South-East Cyclo-Cross League. This is also Round 1 of the AEIGHT BIKE CO Sussex CX League, so it's a great opportunity for a good start in both leagues.

AEIGHT will be at the event to help and will have information on their range of frames, wheels and bikes, which are all made by hand, in Sussex. If you need/want a bespoke CX frame, or a set of custom off-road wheels, AEIGHT have the very best options. www.aeightbikeco.com

PARKING! The Parking is pay on arrival. So please do not fall foul and get a ticket. Details are within this document.

The event location address above will take you to the course. Parking is available there and also at the University of Sussex/s campus car park 4 in Falmer, both are accessible from the A27 heading east or west bound.

Race Report

Stanmer Park in Brighton once again hosted Round one of the Challenge Tires London and South East Cyclo Cross League that is also Round 1 of the Aeightbike.co Sussex league

The sun never fails to show up for this event as commented by all the racers but thankfully there was a nice breeze to help keep us a bit cooler.

VC Jubilee under the direction of organiser James Stone put on a great race for the neatly 300 racers of the day from Under 6 to Master in the 70's. Great to see there world famous tuck shop BBQ being manned by volunteers in custom made chef's aprons.

Stanmer Park is a course you can break down into 3 sections, the flat power grass section, the Climb and the fabulous downhill through the woods that challenges all rider to a precise racing line, venture from this line and you are in loose loamy stuff that will certainly test your bike handling skills.

Notable results were top notch Women's Racer Hope Inglis winning the women's race and then racing the Senior open race to a fine 7th place and 3rd Under 23 behind winner Ollie Richardson.
