Preston Park

Brighton Mitre CC are delighted to host the return to CX racing in Brighton at the
much loved and previously very popular course in Preston Park!

This race is also the final round of the AEIGHT BIKE CO SUSSEX CX SERIES! Your final chance to get your hands on the prizes!

The event has two main sections, starting and finishing in the velodrome.
The long leg descends via the trees on the Eastern flank of the park running parallel
to Preston Park Avenue.

Race HQ and the beating heart of the event will once again be in the Velodrome
where both the main and U12s courses start and finish. There will be plenty of
zigzags and tricky single track before the Adult and Youth course ventures out of the
top gate onto the long straight tree lined downhill. Please watch your speed here!

The path opens out at the bottom corner outside the velodrome with some
switchbacks in the softer ground before heading down to the open wooded section
where the course criss-crosses between the trees towards the bottom end of the
park before doubling back up to the velodrome. There will be a log challenge down
at the bottom section just after the course turns northward. Re-gaining access to the
velodrome is via the challenging but short ramp that may have a few people jumping
off their bikes!

The under 12s race will be mainly contained within the velodrome area as previously
so the whole course can be easily enjoyed by parents/spectators!
