Herne Hill

Bill Wright from HHYCC gives us the low-down, "Herne Hill Velodrome might sound like it’s only for track cycling, but it has become an excellent compact cyclocross venue too. The trails have evolved over the last 20 or so years into a challenging tight and twisty, yet surprisingly fast circuit with lots of possibilities and atmosphere.

Herne Hill Youth CC has been putting on cross races here for most of that time and thanks to some recent trail works due to be completed next year, we’re able to include some new features.

We’re grateful to Balfe’s Cycles and once again to Rouleur magazine for some great prizes, and to the amazing HHYCC catering team for barbecue, burgers, buns and baking.

Sorry but there really isn’t very much parking onsite – so if you live anywhere near we advise to cycle in or use public transport rather than drive, as the small car park will fill quickly. Also, we have an agreement with the residents not to open the gates until 8.30 on Sundays, so please don’t arrive before that to avoid congestion outside."
