Join us for a Training Session on Saturday the 19th of October, at Somerhill, the day before Round 5 of the League at the same venue! Learn all the critical parts of the course, or simply experience cyclo-cross in a friendly non-race environment.
After an initial introduction and warm up we'll split into three groups;
A WOMEN'S only group who will focus on getting an idea about what cyclocross is all about, developing existing skills in a stress-free environment, and how to push their racing to the next level. We run Thursday night sessions at the same place so we know all the best ways to help you build your confidence, meet some other riders and learn the basics.
NEWCOMERS/BEGINNER riders, who have maybe done a bit of gravel, or a few league races, etc and are interested in racing will focus on developing confidence in a cyclocross environment, and how to improve your existing skills - perfect if you've done the odd race but want to up your game.
INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED riders will be focusing on how to ride all the crucial parts of the course as quickly as possible and how to attack the course in an efficient way - Best suited to fast Juniors, confident riders, and regular racers.
ALL riders should park in the TOP car park at Somerhill and be ready to meet at the Start/Finish area (the main tarmac climb) at 12:00. We will start the session with a warm-up in the official warm-up area at 12:15 and then split into the three groups. We'll focus on individual parts of the course and then rotate, so everyone gets to ride everything. Finished and packed up by 14:30 with (hopefully) a cup of tea!
The session is open to all bikes, but we strongly recommend cyclocross bikes to get the most out of it. The session will cater for riders in the Junior, U23, Senior and Vet categories - Younger riders should join our regular Saturday morning sessions instead.
